Sister Spotlight

Meet Sara!

Sara and her husband have come to join us while he finishes his graduate program in Biomedical Science at UCSD. He is currently in his third year and they plan to stay as long as it takes him to finish, depending on his post doc options.

Here is a little more info on this new(er) sister! J

1.     If you had two hours completely to yourself, what might we find you doing?
- That would most likely be divided between playing the piano and reading. I LOVE to read, mostly novels. I would like to learn to sew and scrapbook – mostly to keep my pack rat tendencies in check J I would also love to start writing.

2.      Do you have a favorite conference talk? Why?
-That depends on the conference. The Tender Mercies talk was awesome, but on my mission I developed a deep love and appreciation for all things Holland. He is amazing, and these last few years of conference talks were amazing – that one about Christ being alone, and his Book of Mormon testimony are talks I will never forget. I also loved Uchtdorf’s talk about Fairytales – so sweet.

3.     If you could give yourself advice 5 years ago, what would it be?
-I would tell myself not to worry about every little thing about my life in the future – I was just graduating high school and I was stressing that I didn’t know what to do with my life, and really wished I could glimpse my life now so that I would know what choices to make to get me here. They always talked about how there is a right and a wrong to every decision, but I was learning at that time that this is not the case. There are many options in this life, and the point is to figure out what talents I want to develop, where I want to spend my time, where anything would be good. I would say to not worry, and that everything would be great.

Thank you so much Sara for sharing a little about yourself with us! You are such a great
addition to our colorful palate of Sisters in the UC 2nd Ward! Welcome!
