2nd Thursday
Marva Don Holmes & Vickie Tower from the 10th ward were instrumental in guiding our efforts in tying the quilts on Thursday, September 22nd. WE could not have done it without them!!! Putting the tacks on the quilting frame and making sure the top and bottom quilt aligned seemed daunting at first. But thanks to Marva and Vickie’s know how we were able to place the fabric on correctly the 2nd time.
LOVE is what these quilts are made of and we treasured every minute of making them! Even though the beginning started out rough there was no stopping us once we found our rhythm! Needles moved with lightning speed as sisters made TIES throughout the quilts. Between the two quilts it became a race as to who would finish first. Luckily it was a tie so no one felt like a huge loser. We were all winners that night!
Not only did we FINISH tying them but they are the cutest tied quilts ever! We will be sending the quilts off to the humanitarian efforts of the church soon. Karen Shell bless her heart is assisting in binding the edges and if you are interested in sewing the final stitches please email Debs Aplanalp at debsaplanap@gmail.com. For those unable to attend you really missed out and we hope to see you next time!
We LOVE YOU,
Sallee, Debs, Erin & Andrea
