Dear Sisters,
Thank you Sarah Bean for teaching a wonderful lesson to us about being "active" in the Gospel as well as in the church. We learned how we can better serve the sisters we visit teach and as we realize that visiting teaching is a privilege and not an obligation, we will love more, serve better and become more like our Savior. She used Elder Halstrom's talk "Converted to His Gospel Through His Church" from the April 2012 General Conference and President Uchtdorf's talk "Forget Me Not"from the October 2011 General Relief Society Meeting as reference material.
Next week's lesson will be lesson #9 Open Your Soul to the Lord in Prayer out of the George Albert Smith manual.

Saturday May 12th: The Mothers and Daughters Humanitarian Aid Service Project
2:30-5:00pm at the Islamic Center of San Diego 7050 Eckstrom Ave. We really want to show our support for our wonderful sisters by participating at their Mosque. We would like at least 12 sisters from each ward to come. Daughters age 10+ are welcome. Things to remember:
Please bring potluck finger foods ready to eat (please no pork).
Please wear pants or long skirts. No shorts.
Please bring scissors with your name on them to use to cut and tie blankets.
If you would like to bring school supplies, we will be filling school bags with unsharpened pencils, rubber pencil erasers (about 1x2 in.), pair blunt nosed scissors with metal blades, pencil sharpeners, straight edged ruler (12 in. with metric), glued or spiral bound notebooks with lined sheets, colored pencils.

Friday May 18th-Saturday May 19th: Father/child Campout
@ Crestline at Palomar. This is the same location as the ward campout last fall. You may also just send your husband even if you don't have kids or don't want to send your kids.
Sunday May 20th: Special Stake Conference
10am at the Stake Center. We will be having a special meeting with the stake and will have a general authority there as well. There will be no regular church services on this day.
Sunday May 20th: Dinner Groups
There is a sign up sheet in the binder at church if you would like to participate in dinner groups. You may sign up to host, bring a side, or main dish. If you'd like to sign up right now, email Katie Johnson katie.h.johnson@gmail.com
