Provident Living

Do you have appropriate car insurance?

This last Tuesday I went out to drive to work only to find my car missing from where I had left it and a pile of broken glass in its place.  Earlier this year I had decided to change my car insurance to a cheaper plan that was liability only.  What did that mean?  Well it meant I wasn’t going to get a penny for my stolen vehicle, I was suddenly without means of getting to and from work and would need to buy another car.

It’s important to evaluate your situation when considering your car insurance options.  If you were to get into an accident or have your car stolen would you have the appropriate coverage for your situation?  Assess the appropriate deductible you could pay if you were in an accident.  Would suddenly being out a car cause serious financial strain?  Would you be unable to get to the grocery store, work or even school without a working vehicle?  Insurance policies are important ways to help us be prepared to weather life’s unexpected storms.

My situation fortunately had a happy ending.  Two days later my prayers were answered and I received a call from the police that my car had been found.
