Sister Spotlight

Meet Darcie!

Tell us what brought you to our ward and how long you intend to be with us:
My job at Rady Children’s Hospital brought me back to San Diego. I couldn’t stay away from the sunshine, so you might be stuck with me for a while!

If you had two hours completely to yourself, what might we find you doing?
At the beach – jogging and then soaking up the sun. Or hiking.

Do you have a favorite conference talk? Why?
When President Hinckley talked about the Quest for Excellence, I was left feeling inspired and motivated and very loved. Here’s a great quote, “This is the great day of decision for each of us. For many it is the time of beginning something that will go on for al long as you live. I plead with you: don’t be a scrub! Rise to the high ground of spiritual, mental, and physical excellence. You can do it… Many of us can do better than we are now doing… We are people with a present and with a future. Don’t muff your opportunities. Be excellent.”
As a side note, President Hinckley used the word “scrub.” Haha, I love it!

If you could give yourself advice 5 years ago, what would it be?
This is tough… I could have used a lot of advice. I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had the past few years so that I could really learn some important lessons. I would tell myself to remember that my relationship with Heavenly Father is more important that with anyone else.

Thanks for sharing with us Darcie! We are glad to have you with us!
