Dear Sisters,

What an engaging lesson Sister Sallee Mathews taught today about how to combat our anxieties using principles and practices we learn through the Gospel.  We found that many of us have similar struggles, worries, stresses, and anxieties.  We also learned that we have non negotiable roles that we accepted in the heavens that are our duty to discover and carry out and should be working towards being the best at those roles our Father in Heaven has entrusted us with.

 Sallee referred to a recent talk given by General Relief Society President Julie B. Beck at Women's Conference at BYU.  If you would like to view the whole talk, please click here.  It's about an hour and definitely worth watching!

This Week in Announcements:


Thursday June 9th: Photography Night with Nina Siebert (Professional Photographer)
Beginning promptly at 7:00pm.   Sisters should arrive by 6:45 and get their kids up into the nursery room so that we can begin by 7:00.  We want to capture as much light as possible so we are going to be taking pictures before 7:30 so that we are there when the light is best.

We will be discussing picture taking techniques such as, how to find the best light, picking locations, tricks on taking pics with toddlers, children posing, and other basic tips on shooting.

We also still need volunteers to be subjects for our pictures.  It could be children or adults. Parents of models will receive copies of Nina's best shots!  Please contact Debs Aplanalp if you would like to sign up: debsaplanalp@gmail.com.

The Stake Presidency has asked that everyone attend at least 2 ordinances that week.

Friday June 10th: Packing Help Needed
Evening.  A lot of opportunities for service! We still need a few sisters to help our sisters prepare for their moves this week.  This Friday especially and Saturday June 18th in the morning.  If you would like to serve, please contact Erin Collins at elw.collins@gmail.com.  Extra help may be needed at the other times at well.  Contact Erin with questions. Let's provide some relief!

Saturday June 25th: Emergency Preparedness Fair
10:00am-12:00noon at the chapel. This is a great missionary activity, and the whole family is invited. More details to follow!

Saturday June 25th: Mormon Night at the Padres Game
