Everyone was a SUPERSTAR on Thursday evening!
Our July 14th activity turned out to be a SMASHING SUCCESS! In what is sure to go down in history as nothing less than a QUILTING MIRACLE, those who attended Thursday night’s activity were somehow able to complete pressing, arranging and sewing the 8.5” blocks of fabric together to make two gorgeous quilt tops (everyone worked at rapid speeds - see pics below).
None of us expected to finish this on Thursday night, so when Emmie sewed the final stitch we jumped for joy! Once again we owe a HUGE Thank you to Karen Shell for taking the time to lead this effort. Karen’s knowledge of all things quilting is a real treasure and we are so glad that she is willing to share it with us. Recall that we can all feel especially good about this endeavor because these quilts will be donated to church humanitarian efforts. We will be tying the quilts and binding the edges in the coming months so if you missed this, or the first quilting activity, don’t give up hope! You WILL have another opportunity to make your mark on these masterpieces before we send them off.

call me a biased mom, but my kid takes the prize for quilt enthusiasm--hands down.
